Here’s the job description:
The Consortium seeks a student teaching assistant (must be a graduate student) for 10 hours per week (August-September) and 5 hours per week (September-December) to assist with the preparation and hosting of a co-led online seminar titled, “Will China Democratize: Contending Forces in a Changing China.” This seminar will be co-led by Consortium scholar, Professor Teng Biao, the Grove Human Rights Scholar at Hunter College, CUNY, and former lecturer at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing; and Professor Andrew Nathan, the Class of 1919 Professor of Political Science at Columbia University. The teaching assistant will help the seminar co-leaders prepare for the seminar which will take place on Fridays from 10am -11:30am EST beginning September 24 and running through December 3, 2021 (except for Thanksgiving week, November 26). The teaching assistant is required to attend each session. Additional work supporting the Consortium might also be available which would increase the weekly hours. This is a paid hourly position, $18 per hour.
