China- and Taiwan-related fellowships and grants

Here are two items that may be of interest to readers. I have directly quoted from the wording I received, with a few minor edits.

  • MOFA Taiwan Fellowship: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China awards this fellowship to foreign experts and scholars who are interested in research related to Taiwan, cross-Strait relations, mainland China, Asia-Pacific region and Chinese studies to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan. This opportunity is open to all PhD students; postdocs and faculty members. Deadline: June 30. More details here.
  • Public Diplomacy Programming in the People’s Republic of China: The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy to China (Embassy Beijing and Consulates General Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Wuhan) is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO). Supporting civil society and creating a space for a diversity of people and ideas is a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy abroad. To that end, PAS invites proposals for activities that promote civic engagement, human rights, and good governance, rule of law, environmental protection, education, and multilateral and economic engagement. Deadline: June 25. More details here.
